nprfreshair:

On August 14, 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act.

Later that day, the Washington Post proclaimed that the Social Security Act was the “New Deal’s Most Important Act…Its importance cannot be exaggerated …because this legislation eventually will affect the lives of every man, woman, and child in the country.”

This poster was distributed from November 1936- July 1937 during the initial issuance of Social Security numbers through U.S. post offices and with the help of labor unions.

GoDaddy Faces boycott over SOPA support

GoDaddy Faces boycott over SOPA support:

Major Internet companies have formed a united front in their opposition to the Protect IP Act and the Stop Online Piracy Act. Well, almost. One exception has been the domain registrar GoDaddy. In a op-ed published in Politico shortly after SOPA was introduced in the House, GoDaddy applauded the bill and called opponents “myopic.”

Need to move my domains over to another domain registrar, post-haste!

Hey… has anyone seen Liu? He was just here… What the…

Lui Bolin is a 35 year old dissapering act. Like a lot of men.

Totally bad joke. I swear I’m not that bitter.

Camouflaging himself in paint and taking up to 10 hours per photo shoot - this is what he does. Really quite amazing, isn’t it?

Bolin said his inspiration came from feeling like a social outcast. “Some people call me the invisible man, but for me it’s what is not seen in a picture which is really what tells the story. I experienced the dark side of society, without social relations, and had a feeling that no one cared about me, I felt myself unnecessary in this world.”

Well. I hope not anymore, dude. You rock.
